Our story
As a leading expert in catering, food safety and nutrition, our CEO, James Miller, has worked with a variety of food businesses across the UK. From working on the frontline, as a chef, to working with colleges and universities – training food businesses and professionals.
James identified that the way food hygiene inspections are done hadn’t changed in 30 years – much could be done to modernise them.
As a passionate and innovative technologist, James spotted an opportunity to develop a digital solution that would streamline inspections for both Environmental Health Officers and food businesses.
Grape Software was set up to address these problems with easy-to-use, digital tools.
Meet the team

James Miller
Chief Executive Officer, FounderJames has 20 years’ food industry expertise, as a food consultant, trainer and Registered Nutritionist (ANutr).
He is a leading authority on hospitality, catering and food safety in the UK and has written, developed and delivered innovative training programs on food safety, allergen awareness, catering for dietary conditions and nutritional standards. Passionate about technology, he has designed designed cutting edge solutions such as a cookery lesson booking and management system, dietary assessment tools and online courses for the food industry.

Jill Taylor
Food Safety Consultant & TrainerJill is a highly experienced food safety consultant with a 40+ year background in hospitality management and further education. She has worked with companies including: Compass, The NHS, The Princes’ Trust, Local Authorities and numerous restaurants, and catering and foodservice companies.
Our goals
We develop innovative online software that solves problems for food businesses, consumers and Environmental Health Officers.
