Grape Software is an innovative food technology company aiming to transform a 30+ year antiquated and laborious manual process of food hygiene inspections in the UK. Our vision is to create a modern, collaborative web-based application that will digitise and facilitate UK food hygiene inspections for both food inspectors and food businesses, increasing communication, efficiency and productivity.

Food hygiene inspections have not changed in over 25 years and are done in-person with non-standard paperwork. Similarly, food businesses need to keep a myriad of due diligence documentation.

Founder and CEO, James Miller has a 20+ year career in the food industry and has a consultancy business for 15 years. As a leading expert in catering, food safety and nutrition, James has worked with a variety of food businesses across the UK. From working on the frontline, as a chef, to working with colleges and universities – training food businesses and professionals.

As a passionate and innovative technologist, James identified that the way food hygiene inspections are done hadn’t changed in over 30 years and much could be done to modernise them and streamline inspections for both Environmental Health Officers and food businesses.

Grape Software was set up to address these problems with easy-to-use, digital tools.
